Nottingham joinery say NTI grant is the perfect fit.
16/02/2010
Drury Joinery Services say that technological equipment bought with match funded grant from the East Midlands New Technology Initiative (NTI) has helped the business grow and enabled them to secure ongoing apprenticeship positions.
Drury Joinery installs wood items such as gates, doors, wooden flooring and supply and fit kitchens. They approached the East Midlands NTI Construction Network to find out more about grants available to help small and medium sized businesses.
Their successful application for funding for computer and graphic equipment has led to a boost in sales which, in turn has ensured continued work for their current apprentice when he completes his training, and put the business in the position of taking on another apprentice next year.
Owner, Lee Drury said: “Before we had the grant we were ticking along nicely but could not afford the extra investment required to give us that competitive edge. The equipment has given us the capacity to expand and enabled us to show clients graphic illustrations of what their new kitchen or room will look like. The increase in orders has meant we can continue to invest in our 3rd year apprentice and to take on another apprentice once he qualifies.
“Joinery is a traditional skill but technology enhances the ability to work quickly and effectively.”
