Construction Network
A construction industry with capacity and capability is fundamental to economic growth.
East Midlands Regional Economic growth is forecast to be at 2.6% annually until 2014 (emda 2006 Regional Economic Strategy) and consequently a trained workforce of sufficient size is vital.
There is a shortage of skills in the industry a real need to innovate and embrace new technology. This coupled with the drive nationally from the Major Contractors Group and the Major House Builders for a fully CSCS carded workforce, means that small and medium sized businesses must access training if they are to develop skills and to remain as approved sub contractors on main contractor lists.
The Network’s objective is to provide small and medium sized businesses with the following:
- development grants for new technological advances
- access to a wide range of training and education courses
- access to see and experience new, high-tech equipment
