David Walker, Director of construction company Bowmer and Kirkland and John White, Group Chairman of property and engineering company, The Clegg Group have joined the Board of Directors at East Midlands New Technology Initiative (NTI).
The East Midlands NTI is an initiative backed by the region’s leading colleges and universities. It provides matched funded grants of up to £10,000 to small and medium sized firms to invest in state of the art technology, and gain advanced technology skills through NTI approved courses.
Welcoming David and John to the East Midlands NTI Board, Chair, Mich Stevenson said: “The combination of their strong and highly successful business backgrounds and industry experience will be of great value to the board. Working at a strategic level, David and John’s expertise will be of enormous benefit to NTI’s work.
“Through the NTI network of universities and colleges, small businesses have been able to access a unique mix of skills, knowledge and resources. This amazing resource was only available to big business until NTI arrived. Our networks have made a significant contribution in raising skills and expertise across our region, and as a result many small businesses are now winning new markets and creating sustainable jobs.”
East Midlands NTI is funded by the East Midlands Development Agency (emda), Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and Learning and Skills Council (LSC).
