Drive Higher - is your website working for you?

A funded programme called Drive Higher is an initiative put together by Axis Centre (Castle College) and De Montfort University  for employees of Small to Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the East Midlands by the European Social Fund. It is possible for anyone to do these courses, but full funding is only available to employees of businesses in the retail, engineering and manufacturing, tourism, leisure and creative industries in the East Midlands.

The course is called “Commercial Application of the Web” and is comprised of 3 elective modules that target the needs of businesses in the East Midlands.

The 3 course modules are entitled:
1. eMarketing & Persuasive Website Content Development
2. Enterprise Webmaster
3. Designing & Implementing eCommerce Solutions

Drive Higher - eMarketing & persuasive website content development

Is your site content really persuasive? Do you convert enough visitors into enquiries/orders?

Is your search engine position good enough? Really understand eMarketing?

This course deals with the major eMarketing issues and challenges, helping you identify and beat competitor positions, spot opportunities, create new markets and more. Focused on business benefits and practical usable techniques relevant to UK small to medium businesses, you also can gain professional qualification credits towards a UCPD/degree from De Montfort University.

Starts Monday 30th Apr 2007, 1 day/week, FREE to qualifying businesses or £225 partially funded.

Drive Higher - Enterprise WebMaster

Is your website accessibility standards compliant? Is it ready for mobile access.

Is it built with latest methods ready for changes in search engines and Web 2.0?

The Enterprise WebMaster helps delegates build or upgrade corporate web sites to meet latest compliancy standards plus prepare for likely future challenges. The course will cover methods and techniques for implementing good design using user centred design principles and implementing site testing and improvement strategies. Delegates can also gain professional qualification credits towards a UCPD or foundation degree from De Montfort University.

Starts Wednesday 2nd May 2007, 1 day/week, FREE to qualifying businesses or £225 partially funded.

Drive Higher - Designing & Implementing eCommerce Solutions

Does your business need eCommerce facilities? Are you put off by the cost and inflexibility of outsourced developers?

Develop in-house skills in designing databases, searchable catalogues and secure payment solutions for business application. This course explores the extensive invisible "back-end" systems that make online business possible and focuses on the live build of your own commercially applicable solution. You can also gain professional qualification credits towards a UCPD/degree from De Montfort University.

Starts Tuesday 11th May 2007, 1 day/week, FREE to qualifying businesses or £225 partially funded.
